British Council Director: Promoting English in Morocco is Priority for the Ministry

The Director of the British Council, Tony Reilly, gives the details of an agreement between Morocco on one side and the British Council and the BBC on the other to promote English and its culture in Morocco. Having been signed in the context of the lockdown and the ministry’s efforts to students access to educational content through online platforms and TV, Tony Reilly says that his organization had negotiated with the BBC to give the ministry open license to air an education TV show called “Word on the Street”, which it jointly produced with the BBC, in addition to another Radio show called “Obla Air”.

Tony Reilly is confident that this agreement is not temporary given the increasing demand on English in Morocco and the ministry’s efforts to prioritize English-learning outcomes in Morocco.
