National Meteorological Directorate (NMD) in Morocco has issued a warning about strong weather fluctuations on Monday 2nd September.
The weather alert came in a special bulletin issued today by Morocco’s National Meteorological Directorate. It states that numerous areas in Morocco are expected to witness strong thunderstorms on Monday between 1 and 11 pm.
These areas are Azilal, Beni Mellal, Boulemane, Kelaat Sraghna, Errachidia, Figuig, Faqih Bensalah and Ifran, Khenifra, Midelt, Ouarzazate, Sefrou, Settat, Tinghir and Zagora, states the source.
The Directorate adds that the storm “might be accompanied locally with hailstorms and windstorms” in the mentioned areas.
A few days ago, the city of Taroudant saw an unexpected and violent flood that claimed the lives of 11 people. The tragic incident was followed by another flood only yesterday that although did not result in casualties, swept away cars and other properties in the village of Imlil, in the high Atlas.
